Volunteer to help at Charlecote Mill and experience something unique.
Although Charlecote Mill is a commercial venture, running a historic working building is both expensive and very time consuming. Karl is always looking for enthusiastic people to give some of their time to experience the traditional craft of milling and to help with general maintenance and tidying of the mill and its surrounding areas. Karl is always keen to let others experience the pleasure of milling wheat in the traditional way.
Volunteers get involved in all manner of jobs from basic tidying and cleaning, to machinery repairs and making tools or equipment for the mill. For the green fingered, there is always lots of grass to cut and plenty of trimming back of the overgrowth. Importantly, the trees need to be pollarded regularly to keep them in good condition.
Our open days are becoming increasingly popular and we are on the lookout for people who would enjoy interacting with our visitors and to help with making teas and coffees, welcoming visitors to the mill and for those with a head for facts and the gift of the gab, we also need tour guides to show our visitors around the mill.
If you are interested in helping out at Charlecote Mill, please contact Karl using our contact form or feel free to pop in to the mill any day that the mill is open to talk to him directly and learn a bit more about what goes on.
